Shutter Speed

When you hit the shutter button, the camera captures the scene for the duration the shutter is open (shutter speed). While the shutter is open, your camera not only gathers light but also records any movement that happens in your scene. All of that motion gets "blurred" into your image. So, for shutter speed, the main effect is brightness, and the side effect is motion blur.
